Just about that fast. five minutes with these things pressing my lower back just above the glutes and I practically sprang to my feet. Comment: I am not able to get down on the floor but I read all the reviews and thought I'd try using them in a chair or the bed. I don't think I could take the pressure on the floor but on my bed with a 3 inch memory foam topper they work. I read the little book and the different places to place the balls. I follow that and I can say they give some relief to my back pain. They are not a cure by any means for severe back problems, but any non drug relief I can get I'm thankful for. The only con I have found is they can somewhat difficult to get in just the right place if you have limited mobility. Also when you first open the box they smell very bad, a chemical odor.
