The percussion massager works fine and the long handle allows one to reach difficult areas on one's back. The infrared heat is not very intense and was a disappointment. I couldn't get the exact massager so I settled for this one. I am very pleased with my purchase. It feels almost exactly like the one at the chiropracter's office. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is because it's too heavy for me to use on my own back, stretching my arm up over my shoulder. Having said that, it's not really that heavy. My 4-year-old can massage my back for me. I just have weak triceps.
About the heat, my husband and I both agree that the heat is a nice addition. I read reviews that said you can't feel the heat. We feel it when the massager is moved slowly over the area.
