Customer Rating: Summary: Needle Disposal at Home Comment: If you give yourself injections (insulin, B-12, etc) at home, the Bard Home Sharps Container is a necessity. Disposal of needles requires a safe method of disposal. The thick plastic of the container means that needles will not go through the sides and will be contained, protecting the safety of everyone in the family as well as those who pick up waste. The top closes easily and the red color notifies the city it is medical waste so they can protect their workers who pick up the full container. It is the same high quality as those used in hospitals.

Editorial Reviews:

The syringe capacity depends on the size of the syringe being disposed of.
Please note that the container is made for disposal of insulin syringes and pen needles only. Other types of syringes do not fit
The rules and regulations regarding sharps disposal may be different in towns and counties around the country, so check with your local sanitation or health department. When the BDTM Home Sharps Container is full, seal it and check with your community how to dispose of it properly. If, as a last resort, you choose to put it in a trash receptacle, do not place it in a recycling bin because insulin syringes, pen needles and lancets are not recyclable.
